Spring is such a fun season! Flowers in bloom, the weather gets warmer. It is time to lighten up with fresh new styles for your wardrobe! One of our local magazines, Seattleite featured a wonderful article on spring fashion and we just had to share! Enjoy!

Spring Forward Fashion: Bold Prints

Spice up your wardrobe with one of spring’s many patterns.

Get out of the monochromatic mode and start wearing prints!  This season designers went print crazy; now it’s your turn to figure out what prints work best for your personality and body type.  Be bold, try new things, and don’t be scared to put prints together and mix it up!

Digital Print

The Look: H&M (left); The Inspiration: S/S’12 Dries Van Noten

Futuristic metallic pieces have had their time in the fashion world.  Now designers are giving garments a modern twist with digital imaging.  Some of the digital images include nature scenes, cityscapes, animals and computer pixels.  If you are excited about this trend choose a bright colored digital print, or if hesitant, chose a natural print like this digital floral H&M top in subdued tones.

H&M Top | $39.95 | Available at H&M

Mirror Print

The Look: Free People (left); The Inspiration: S/S’12 Etro

Mirror prints are making there way to stores now!  These prints can be found in floral, digital and retro designs all in symmetrical locations on the garment; creating a streamlined look for the body.  This dress by Free People is a digitally inspired mirror print that also happens to embrace the neon trend for spring!

Easy Button Down Tank Dress | $288 | Available at Free People

Bird Print

The Look: Anthropologie (left); The Inspiration: S/S’12 Kenzo

Birds were seen on almost all the runways this season.  Bird prints include exotic birds, cartoon birds and bird silhouettes in faint and vibrant colors.  Anthropologie’s Henga Shirtdress is decorated with vibrant colored parrots and foliage in a lightweight material – a perfect addition to your spring wardrobe

Henga Shirtdress | $168 | Available at Anthropologie

Ocean Print

The Look: Staring at Stars (left); The Inspiration: Peter Pilotto

This season many models looked like mermaids in flowy ocean like gowns adorned with seashells and starfish!  Embrace your inner mermaid and wear garments that have mermaid-esque prints or are dyed/printed to look like the sea.  This dress by Staring at Stars is made of flowy cotton and nylon, and incorporates different shades of blue throughout the skirt to mimic the movement of waves.

It so nice now that Spring is finally here. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom and the sun is beaming through our window panels as we speak. Being in the Pacific Northwest, we are definitely thrilled to see clear and sunny skies! The gorgeous weather has certainly tapped our inner creativity here at the home office and inspired our latest additions. Our style inspiration comes from our lovely Jackie O and all sketches are compliments of Lylian.

The Adventures of Shi Golf at the PGA Merchandise Show

Posted: February 15th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Blog | 1 Comment »

It’s been nearly two weeks since we’ve settled back in to our office but, boy – the PGA Merchandise Show still feels like it was yesterday. We’ve gotta admit, it was nice to skip out on a whole week of dreary rain in Seattle and come back to see sunshine in the Emerald City! Yes, lucky us!

The PGA Merchandise Show was a blast and we had such a great time in Orlando! It was absolutely wonderful to meet so many great people and see all of our old friends there!

Meeting people, sharing with others about our love of golf and everything that is associated with it – sounds like a breeze, right? Well, that is the easy part. Our trip didn’t go quite as smoothly as wd had hoped for (well, the first couple of days at least).

It all started on Tuesday afternoon- 6.5 hours before we were supposed to be at the airport for check in. A mishap with printing services took place that left us with zero catalogs to bring to the show. To remedy the situation and salvage what was possible, it involved nearly 2 hours and 120 miles worth of driving round-trip. The result: We were only able to bring half the amount of what we originally planned.  Stressful, yes but thank goodness we all had time to go home and pack and make it in time for our red-eye flight from Seattle to Orlando.

With barely any sleep on our flight, we landed at 7am in Orlando. Going from Pacific Standard Time to Eastern Standard Time was pretty rough. After grabbing a bite – we set out on our mission to pick up some last minute supplies to set up our booth. Right at that moment we realized that not all of our baggage were accounted for at the airport. Guess what? Of all the pieces that got lost in transit, our most important one that contained all of our brand new samples got lost. It was a nightmare. The Show was the next day and we had (almost) nothing to show for.

Frantic, horrified and after some deep breathing sessions – we thought, “Okay, it is what it is. Having a heart attack won’t change anything and we’ll just have to do what we can. We’ll call and have them [airline/freight company] and see.”  We were told that we would receive the items on Friday, one day after the Show began. With that said, we embarked on our journey to the Convention Center to set up. Long story short – during the duration of our set-up, both of our dollies broke down. With nothing to push our boxes in, they had to be carried in.  To make matters worse, as the bistro table was being assembled – it broke. The defected product was returned and we bought a new one. Lo and behold – our second bistro table broke as well. At this point, we just thought to ourselves, “What next?”

Even though it was a  rough start and we didn’t have much to show for on the first day of the show, we are thankful for everyone’s support. Of course everything wasn’t gloom and doom. We had a wonderful time and our spirits definitely picked up as soon as we received our missing luggage. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth. We are encouraged by your incredible support!

The holiday season was certainly a busy one for us! With the PGA Merchandise Show quickly approaching, we are diligently preparing to ensure that we have a fabulous show in Orlando! One thing that we were able to cross off our to-do list earlier this week was our 2012 Shi Golf catallog photo shoot.  Photography was done by Seattle based Tiffany Tong Photography (www.tiffanytong.net) and boy was it exciting to see our new collection being brought to life by our wonderful models!

We are so excited to unveil our new collection at the show next month. Ladies, we hope you are ready for plenty of luxurious sweaters and fun dresses to add to your golf wardrobe! Our new pieces are so versatile, we think you’ll enjoy wearing it as you’re out-and-about as well! 2012′s collections embraces classics such as the argyle design, traditional polos and pairs it with fun and feminine pieces such as our pleated skirts and chino shorts. We’ve also incorporated modern pieces such as the cozy zip up hoodie and were definitely inspired by asymmetrical lines.  We can’t give away too much so you’ll have to stay tuned with our progress!
